DIGESTECH is a mixture of short chain fatty acids: butyric-, propionic- and acetic acid. SCFA’s are fatty acids with two to six carbons atoms.
Short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) play a major role in preserving the structural and functional integrity of the gut. SCFAs and their salts prevent or limit the growth of undesirable microorganisms and fungi in the gastrointestinal tract, aid in maintaining intestinal pH and contribute to improving the solubility of feed ingredients, digestion and absorption of nutrients.
